Reducing Hunger and Poverty in Poor Communiti...

After launching operations in 2018, EDUPAC immediately embarked on a mission to reduce extreme hunger and fight poverty in rural communities in Cameroon. Our first targets were school drop-outs from youth groups and unemployed widows, women, and single mothers from farming groups in the Muangwekan, Mbuasum, Ekambeng, and Nteho I & II localities. We identified marginalized and impoverished women groups involved in peasant cassava farming and with support from a fund mobilization campaign, we organized two training workshops. Through the workshops, we trained women on adaptive techniques in cassava production and processing into by-products. The EDUPAC team also assisted in the packaging and marketing of end products for income generation for these groups.

Promoting Quality and Affordable Education at...

Quality education is a fundamental human right for every child, no matter where they are. Yet, children in rural and internally displaced persons (IDPs) from conflict-torn areas still find it hard to get quality education. In 2019, EDUPAC launched a 9-month-long project to scale up the library resource base and promote accessibility to reading/writing materials in primary and secondary schools. Launched in January 2019, the project successfully distributed cost-free didactic materials including educational books to more than 70% of schools and IDPs in Nkongsamba, Muakwe, and Bangem.

Empowering Local Farming Groups to Reduce Mal...

Women are among one of the most vulnerable groups in any rural community. Realizing this problem, EDUPAC set out to promote the economic empowerment of unemployed women, widows, and single mothers in the localities of Melong, Mbad, Muabi, Ebamut, Enyandong, Bakolle, Muambong, Bangem, Tombel, Konye, Nguti, and Ebonji. For one thing, this group of women is often marginalized, stigmatized, and socially excluded from community initiatives and programs. Our goal with this project was to move rural women in these communities from crisis and poverty to improved livelihoods. At the end of the project, EDUPAC assisted female farming groups in these communities to acquire adequate land for Soya Beans production, prepared project sites for planting, and aided with harvesting and marketing of farm produce. This was in a bid to empower unemployed and under-privileged women,
widows, and single mothers to be economically self-sufficient.

Promoting Improved Healthcare and Services in...

Health centers in rural communities hardly have sufficient medical equipment. In 2020, we embarked on a mission to promote improved and resources-rich healthcare and services in Bangem, a locality in the Kupe-Muanenguba Division in the Southwest Region of Cameroon. Our goal was to scale up effective and efficient healthcare and services by providing hospital beds and medical equipment to health personnel, health centers, health-deficient infants, children,youths, pregnant women, women, and men in Bangem. By April 2021, with the help of partners and charities in Germany, EDUPAC successfully acquired and delivered cost-free medical equipment, materials, and supplies to the Bangem District Hospital.
